Description

Introducing Tamron’s newly improved best-in-class, high-speed zoom lens

The new Model A032 high-speed zoom is designed to maximize the potential of the latest high-pixel-density cameras while delivering best-in-class image quality with the use of new specialized, high quality glass materials that offer greater optical transmittance. Our proprietary eBAND Coating resists ghosting and flare, making this lens ideal for backlit photography. In addition to cutting-edge autofocus technology, the A032 offers the highest vibration compensation in its class,*1—with a CIPA image stabilization performance level of 5 stops.*2 With Fluorine Coating and rugged, Moisture-Resistant Construction, the A032 is an excellent choice for outdoor photography. A built-in lock in the lens hood offers additional protection. The combination of advanced technology, versatility and superb image quality makes the easy-to-use A032 zoom an excellent choice for everything from landscapes and portraits.

See the world with new sharpness and clarity
The use of new specialized, high quality glass materials that offer greater optical transmittance are used in the new model A032 to ensure superior color reproduction and even greater sharpness. The A032 lens comprises 17 glass elements in 12 groups, including: 2 XR (Extra Refractive Index) glass elements to counteract optical aberrations; 3 LD (Low Dispersion) elements to minimize axial chromatic aberrations that can occur with telephoto, as well as transverse chromatic aberrations that can be an issue with wide-angle; 3 GM (glass-molded aspherical) elements; and 1 hybrid aspherical lens element that effectively neutralizes spherical aberrations and distortions to create superior image quality. Thanks to a combination of these special glass materials, the A032 achieves previously unseen levels of accurate color reproduction and depictive performance.

eBAND Coating dramatically curbs ghosting and flare
The new A032 features Tamron’s original eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating, a technology that combines an extremely-low-refractive-index nano-structured layer with conventional multiple-layer coating techniques to provide superior anti-reflection performance. The optimal application of this eBAND Coating in combination with Tamron’s BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) Coating successfully and substantially curbs the ghosting and flare that can occur when photographing backlit subjects.

Equipped with the new dual MPU (micro-processing unit) control system*3
The A032 zoom features a new control system that uses a dual MPU (micro-processing unit) process. In addition to an MPU with built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) blocks for superior signal processing, Tamron has added an MPU dedicated solely to vibration compensation . The result is quicker, more precise AF performance and more consistently powerful VC (Vibration Compensation).

*3 A new control system using two high-performance MPUs (micro-processor units).

Dramatically improved autofocus accuracy and speed
The A032 is equipped with its own MPU (micro-processor unit), with embedded DSP (digital signal processing) blocks that enable high-speed digital signal processing, achieving both excellent responsiveness to signals from the camera and high-precision AF performance.

The highest vibration compensation (VC) levels in its class
The new A032 zoom lens is equipped with Tamron’s original VC (Vibration Compensation) system. With the addition of an MPU specially dedicated to VC processing, the A032 offers the highest vibration compensation available,*1 with CIPA image stabilization performance level of 5 stops.*2 Now you can enjoy jitter-free handheld shooting and more flexibility—even in low light conditions.

*1. Among 24-70mm F/2.8 interchangeable lenses for DSLR cameras (as of May, 2017; Tamron)
*2. CIPA Standard Compliant. For Canon:EOS-5DMKIII is used. For Nikon:D810 is used
.

Fluorine Coating for protection and safe cleaning
The front surface of the lens element is coated with a protective fluorine compound that is water- and oil-repellant. The lens surface is easier to wipe clean and is less vulnerable to the damaging effects of dirt, dust, moisture and fingerprints.

New locking mechanism built into the lens hood
The lens hood is equipped with a locking mechanism, which prevents detachment due to unintentional contact during use.

Electromagnetic diaphragm system compatible with Nikon cameras
An electromagnetic diaphragm system, which has been a standard feature for Canon-mount lenses, is employed in Nikon-mount lenses. More precise diaphragm and aperture control is possible because the diaphragm blades are driven and controlled by a motor through electronic pulse signals.

Moisture-Resistant Construction protects your lens
For greater protection when shooting outdoors, leak-resistant seals throughout the lens barrel help protect your equipment.

Compatible with the TAMRON TAP-in Console™
The optional TAP-in Console™ provides a USB connection to your personal computer, enabling you to easily update your lens’s firmware as well as customize features including fine adjustments to the AF and VC.
